The idea: paper and ink
The studio is designed to feel like a sheet of warm paper on a quiet desk. The background has a faint grain, the text is set in classic serif type, and color is used the way a painter uses accents: sparingly, on purpose.
When the room gets dark, the site switches to night paper: deep brown-black with cream ink. You can switch it by hand with the moon button in the header.
The seal
The logo is an ink seal, inspired by the red stamps artists in East Asia press onto their finished work. Inside it, a single brush stroke forms an "L" for Letras, with a drop of ochre paint beside it, as if the brush just left the page.
The same idea returns every time you copy a style: a small red COPIED stamp lands on the card, like signing a finished piece.
Typography
We use no web fonts. Headings use the elegant serif already on your device (Iowan Old Style, Palatino or Georgia), and the interface uses your system's own sans-serif. That keeps pages fast, private and natural on every platform. Fancy styles are pure Unicode, drawn by the fonts you already have.
Small details you may have noticed
- The text box is ruled like a notebook, with a pink margin line.
- The home page headline features a living word that slowly changes its letter style.
- Section numbers (01, 02, 03) are printed like chapter marks in a book.
- Every image is an original poster made for this site, carrying its name.
- Motion is gentle, and disappears entirely if your device asks for reduced motion.
