Where cool fonts come from

Many "cool fonts" are characters from other writing systems that resemble Latin letters. The generator picks the closest look-alike for each letter:

StyleSource charactersExample
Rounded SyllabicsCanadian Aboriginal syllabicsᑕᗝᗝᒪ ᔕ丅ᑌᗪᎥᗝ
Oriental BrushChinese characters匚口口乚
Katakana StyleKatakana and kanjiᄃののレ
Cherokee CurvedCherokee syllabaryፈᎧᎧᏝ
Greek LambdaGreek and CyrillicᄃӨӨᄂ
A note of respect: these are real scripts. A native reader sees syllables that mean nothing. Use them for names and decoration, not for messages people need to understand.

How to pick a style for your name

  • Short names (up to 5 letters): Oriental Brush and Rounded Syllabics feel bold.
  • Long names: Double-Struck Outline (𝔻𝕠𝕦𝕓𝕝𝕖) stays readable.
  • Gaming look: Greek Lambda and Katakana Style.

How to mix styles and keep it readable

Style the first letter one way and the rest another. The Mix styles button does it at random, or you can copy the initial and the rest separately and paste them together.

Questions artists ask

Do cool fonts work in games?

Most do. If a game blocks a character, try another style.

Which cool font is easiest to read?

Double-Struck Outline and Fine Lines are the most readable.
