How to write an art thread
- First post: a bold title and the promise ("how I paint skies in 5 steps").
- Middle posts: one image and one idea each, numbered 1/, 2/, 3/ in plain text.
- Last post: a recap and a link to your portfolio or shop.
How fancy letters count toward the limit
Most styled letters count as one character on X, the same as normal letters. Frames such as ꧁ ꧂ add their own characters. Paste your text and watch the counter before posting.
Search and accessibility on X
Search does not turn 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 into "painting". Keep keywords and hashtags plain. Screen readers also read math letters awkwardly, so style only a few words.
Questions artists ask
Do bold letters count as more characters on X?
Usually each styled letter counts as one character. Extra symbols and frames add to the total.
Can I use fancy letters in my @handle on X?
No. Handles accept letters, numbers and underscores only. Style your display name instead.
Do styled hashtags work?
No. #𝗮𝗿𝘁 and #art are different tags to X. Keep hashtags plain.
