Graffiti, tags and digital letters
Graffiti writing grew on subway cars and city walls, from quick signatures called tags to huge colorful pieces. Real graffiti is drawn by hand with volume, color and flow.
Unicode can't recreate a spray-painted piece, but it can suggest the attitude:
| Digital style | Example | Echoes |
|---|---|---|
| Currency Symbols | ₴₮ⱤɆɆ₮ | Sharp tag strokes |
| Slashed Letters | ꞩŧɍɇɇŧ | Drips and cuts |
| Viking Runes | ᛋᛏᚱᛖᛖᛏ | Straight, angular hands |
| Wall Tag | 『₴₮ⱤɆɆ₮』 | A framed signature |
| Broken | ✖ 𝗦̸𝗧̸𝗥̸𝗘̸𝗘̸𝗧̸ ✖ | Crossed-out letters |
How to design a digital tag
- Pick a short name of 3 to 6 letters.
- Try Currency Symbols, Viking Runes and Slashed Letters.
- Finish with ☢, ✖ or ⛓.
